Paint Mixer
Three colors a day. Mix each one from up to three artist’s paints, as on a real palette, so blue and yellow make green.
The same three colors for everyone, new ones at midnight. Your scores stay in this browser.
About Paint Mixer
Paint Mixer is a free daily color mixing game. Each day there are three colors to mix from ten common artist’s paints, such as lemon yellow, ultramarine and burnt sienna. Choose up to three paints and how many parts of each. The light curves show how much light each one reflects, from violet to red: when your curve matches the dashed one, the colors match. After each color we show the mix we used.
The paints mix the way real paint does, with a simple form of the Kubelka-Munk model used to match paint colors, so phthalo blue takes over a yellow and ultramarine needs a lot of white. The paints’ curves are close to the real pigments but not measured from one brand. It takes a few minutes, plays in your browser on a phone or a computer, and needs no sign-up.
